In this last part of Chapter 4, we review the current release of Rare Breed, the 116.8 batch (2017).  While there has been a recent label change, in theory this should be fairly consistent with the 116.8 batches available.

Earlier, we introduced Chapter 4 and the history and composition of the Rare Breed offering.  Today, we continue with a review of the Rare Breed 112.8 batch (2016).  This batch was only recently discontinued in 2017.

30 Days of Wild Turkey: Day 14 (Rare Breed WT-03RB (clear wrap & embossed cap))

Earlier, we introduced Chapter 4 and the history and composition of the Rare Breed offering.  Today, we continue with a review of the Rare Breed WT-03RB batch, this time coming in the form of the clear wrapper and embossed cap (this bottle is a 2011).  As we mentioned yesterday, the WT-03RB was released for over a decade, and may have had some profile variations from year to year.

Yesterday, we introduced Chapter 4 and the history and composition of the Rare Breed offering.  Today, we continue with a review of the Rare Breed WT-03RB batch, this time coming in the form of the dark wrapper, non-embossed cap bottling that is believed to have been released throughout the early 2000’s (this bottle is a 2005).  As we mentioned yesterday, the WT-03RB was released for over a decade, and may have had some profile variations from year to year.

Chapter 4

In Chapter 2, we brought you the history of Wild Turkey’s first single barrel bourbon – the Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit.  A few years prior, in 1991, Wild Turkey introduced their first barrel strength bourbon, the Wild Turkey Rare Breed (being batch W-T-01-91).
